Research Interest

My main research interest is the understanding of the formation of bedforms in terms of physical processes and possible quantification of the parent flows. I am interested in a variety of sedimentary environments, but with a special focus on pyroclastic currents and storm deposits.

Research Experience

Field sedimentology on pyroclastic deposits: A naturalist approach on more than 15 volcanoes.

Experimental work: Understand sedimentation through wind tunnel, flumes, and jet experiments.

Surface and near-surface geophysical field surveys: Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS), Ground Pemetrating Radar (GPR), GPS, Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT), thermal mapping.

Seismology: Shear wave splitting for anisotropy below Cotopaxi volcano (Ecuador).

Sequence Stratigraphy: Glacial tunnel valleys incising the Cambro-Ordovician deposits of Southern Jordan.
